Facilities and Checklist
Please use this as a guideline when preparing for the Dolphin Spotter Trail.
IMPORTANT!
Do not bring valuables to the race. Whilst we take all precautions, we cannot be held liable or responsible for valuables lost during the event.
Cellphones
Please ensure that you load the I.C.E. (In Case of Emergency) on your phone. Please disable passwords for the duration of the race.
Clothing
- Running hats / caps
- Running shorts
- Running socks
- Running Shirt/ Vest
- Hydration pack - optional
- T-shirt
- Backpack - for towel and costume if you want to go swimming on the route
- Rain jacket - lightweight for windbreaker and just-in-case it sprinkles a bit
- Running shoes/ Spare Pair if you have. There are River Crossings
- Sleeping Bag - if camping
- Pillow - if camping or you just love your own pillow
- Extra Blanket - if camping
Miscellaneous
- Sunglasses
- GPS
- Sunscreen
- Insect repellent
- Bandana/ buff/ masks
- High energy snacks
- Hydration pack for 2L of water plus with room for packing snacks
- Money – just in case you pass a shebeen on the way
- Energy Bars
- Energy Drink
- Recovery Drink
- Shark Repellant - just kidding....
Facilities
- A professional team of qualified paramedics will be providing the first aid, search and rescue and paramedic services both on and off the course
- Their base will be at the Morgan Bay Hotel as well as on the route
- They can be consulted if you have any medical problems
- There will be support vehicles and a quad bike on the route to attend to any mishaps or accidents/injuries which may occur
- You will have emergency contact numbers for this service pre-printed on your race number
Massage Facilities
Sports massages by qualified therapists will be available at the Morgan Bay Hotel.
Whilst the utmost care will be taken, The race organisers, sponsors, landowners, helpers etc. will not be held responsible for any losses or damage to personal property. Please be vigilant at all times.
